On Friday (April 4), Nashville singer-songwriter extraordinaire Ernest announced the launch of his own label called DeVille Records, which is a joint venture with Big Loud Records. According to the announcement, the label is “founded on the old-school values of artist development and creative swagger.” The artist roster features Grammy-nominated Chandler Walters (co-writer of Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help”), Rhys Rutherford, and Cody Lohden as their first signees, with the trio already signed to Ernest’s publishing arm, ERN’s Cadillac Music. DeVille Records’ first release will be a mixtape-style project titled, Cadillac Sessions, featuring original tracks and covers by Ernest, Rutherford, and Lohden, along with “additional superstar guests,” which is due out May 9. “We’re going to build this thing wide and on concrete,” Ernest said. “Artist development.
