Dolly Parton will release her 43rd studio album, Pure and Simple, on Friday, Aug. 19. Dolly wrote all 10 tracks on the album. In other album news, Drake White (Spark), Casey Donahew (All Night Party) and Kiefer Sutherland (Down in a Hole) will also release new albums on Aug. 19.
Due in large part to a 99-cent offer from Goggle Play music store, Blake Shelton’s If I’m Honest is the No. 1 album on Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart this week. According to Nielsen, Blake sold 44,000 copies, while Cody Johnson came in at No. 2 by selling 23,000 copies of Gotta Be Me.
The Americana Music Association announced its final round of artists performing during the 17th annual AmericanaFest in Nashville from Sept. 20–25.
