Jason Aldean’s “9” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Top Country Albums Chart

Jason Aldean’s “9” Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard Top Country Albums Chart

Jason Aldean’s aptly named ninth studio album, 9, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart this week.

The 16-song album, which dropped on Nov. 22, moved more than 83,000 equivalent units, according to Nielsen Music. The album also debuted at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

“People buy albums with eight songs for 10 bucks now, but with 9, it’s like you’re getting two whole albums at once,” says Jason. “I want fans to feel like they’re getting more than they bargained for, and I want it to be something they listen to from top to bottom, and never hit skip . . . or thumbs down or whatever.”

9 marks Jason’s sixth consecutive album to reach No. 1. The album’s lead single, “We Back,” is currently No. 12 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart after 11 weeks.
