Step back into 1776 at the Colonial Village, featuring blacksmithing, candle-making, storytelling, history tours, and interactive exhibits from the Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Bring the kids for old-school games like hoop rolling, marbles, and stickball—just like they played 250 years ago.
Take part in the Independence Day Walk + Talk, a guided historic tour through Chattanooga’s revolutionary roots at 3pm and 5pm.
Live entertainment includes:

🔥 At 10:05pm — the night sky erupts with a historic 500 Drone Show!
Also featuring a breathtaking 1,000-foot Pyro Waterfall cascading directly off the Market Street Bridge, this massive patriotic finale combines drones, fire, music, and cutting-edge technology for a sky show unlike anything Chattanooga has ever seen.
Plus food vendors all day including BBQ, tacos, pizza, ice cream, kettle corn, and more.

Children’s Activities

- Games for children similar to those played in Hamilton County 250 years ago
- Chattanooga Audubon Society has many years of experience organizing these games, primarily for their annual Pioneer Days event
- All games are child-friendly
- Parents are required to register and stay with their children while playing

Independence Day Walk + Talk (Historic Tour)

Join National Park Partners on Saturday, July 4th for a multi-generational walk through Chattanooga’s history. All ages are welcome for this one-hour experience as we explore the history of the frontier town (later named Chattanooga) on the eve of the Revolutionary War.
Various historical markers on Ross’s Landing, along with the Cherokee-designed “The Passage” water feature, highlight many stories preserved and interpreted by the National Park Service, including:
- Trail of Tears National Historic Trail
- Underground Railroad National Network of Freedom
- Civil War Campaign for Chattanooga
Look for the National Park Partners tent at the Pioneer Village on Ross’s Landing.
This is an easy walk suitable for all ages. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and bring water bottles.
129th U.S. Army Band
- The 129th Army Band is headquartered at Houston Barracks in Nashville, Tennessee, and is led by CW4 Billy Stepp and First Sergeant Timothy Keyser.
Voices of Lee
- The Voices of Lee is a 15-member A Cappella ensemble from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. Since their debut in September 1994, their intense musical focus and dedication to harmony, spirit, and performance have captivated audiences worldwide.

Courtney Cowart and Bad Matador
- Courtney is a Tennessee-born singer-songwriter returning to Chattanooga after singing in New York, Los Angeles, and Europe for 15 years. Her unique, soulful voice translates across multiple categories of music from roots rock to southern soul and is complemented by backing band Bad Matador.
