Keith Urban Celebrates No. 1 Single, “Break On Me,” With Nashville Shindig

It was a great way to start the week when Keith Urban threw a party to celebrate his No. 1 hit, “Break On Me,” at Jack White’s Third Man Records in Nashville on Monday, Aug. 22.

Keith took the stage accompanied by songwriters Jon Nite and Ross Copperman and producer Nathan Chapman to kick off the festivities. The fabulous foursome started the afternoon by taking turns singing verses of the hit song, “Break On Me.” The single stayed atop the charts for two weeks and became Keith’s 19th No. 1 song of his career. He has since notched his 20th No. 1 tune on the Billboard charts with “Wasted Time,” which landed at the top of the charts in late June. That means another No. 1 party can’t be too far behind.

“I’ve been really lucky blessed to be able to cut some songs that have been really written from the heart,” Keith said to crowd. “I felt that way when I heard ‘You’ll Think of Me,’ I felt that way when I heard ‘Making Memories of Us,’ and when I heard this song it felt like it was cut from that cloth—for me—the way i felt about it, I knew it had come from a real place.”

“Break On Me,” the second single from Keith’s album, Ripcord, was penned by Jon Nite and Ross Copperman.

“I wanted to do this song justice because I feel like I’ve been on both sides of this song,” said Keith. “Definitely had people be that rock for me and I’ve been fortunate enough to be that rock for others as well—so I can relate to that song so strongly. I feel really honored that I got sent the song and got to record it.”

Keith’s latest single, “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” was released in August and is working its way up the charts, hoping to follow suit of his two previous singles, and giving us another excuse for a party.

Watch as Keith thanks his family and friends for their support.
