Ronnie Dunn Records Ariana Grande Song for New Album, “Tattooed Heart”

Ronnie Dunn is making a permanent mark on the music scene with his newest solo album, Tattooed Heart, available to the public on Oct. 21.

The album—produced by Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus— looks to have 12 tracks including the current single , “Damn Drunk”,  which features Ronnie’s former Brooks & Dunn partner Kix Brooks. Also making an appearance on the album is good friend and superstar, Reba McEntire, who lends her vocals to “Still Feels Like Mexico.”

The surprising part of the release is that, at the urging of his daughter, Ronnie chose to cover a song by pop-star Ariana Grande for the album’s title track, “Tattooed Heart.”

“I had a lot of fun making this album. Jay and I really clicked in the studio and we were both really proud of the final product,” said Ronnie in a statement. “I branched out of my comfort zone while writing and listening to a ton of music. At the suggestion of my daughter, I even recorded an Ariana Grande song. Ironically, it became the title of the album.”

Ariana Grande best known for hits such as “Problems,” “Love Me Harder” and “Dangerous Woman” co-wrote and recorded “Tattooed Heart” for her 2013 Yours Truly album.

Ronnie will continue his Las Vegas residency—Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas— for select dates in November and December before returning again in 2017 to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. He is also featured on Jake Owen’s current single “American Country Love Song.”

Tattooed Heart, will be available for pre-order on Sept. 23.
