Success! Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Have Fun Kicking Off Soul2Soul World Tour in New Orleans and Tupelo: “We Did It,” Says Tim

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill kicked off their highly-anticipated Soul2Soul: The World Tour Friday night (April 7) in New Orleans—which marks their first co-headlining tour in 10 years. From the looks of their social media accounts, the weekend was quite a success.

The tour made stops in New Orleans on April 7 and Tupelo, Miss. on April 9 with the Brothers Osborne getting the party started, opening the show for the first two nights of the tour. 26 different opening acts will join the couple as they continue touring the country—with a different act each weekend.

Before Tim and Faith hit the road, they stopped by the Nash Country Daily offices where we asked them just what they love about touring with each other.

“To witness the best entertainer in the business period,” Faith said. “Not just the country music business. Tim is one of the greatest entertainers that’s ever graced the stage and that is the honest to God truth.”

“She’s so sweet. Now, that’s how you speak to a husband,” Tim laughs, referring to the couples current single “Speak to a Girl.”

“No, I have to really up my game in that department,” Faith continues. “I haven’t been on tour in ten years. It’s just fun. We work really, really hard for many months preparing, putting together, dissecting this show with a lot of very talented people. So once the moment comes that we are actually able to get on the road and get going and out there playing for the fans—we’re hanging out with some of our favorite people. They work so hard and have worked so hard for so many months, it’s like a celebration when we hit the stage. We’re like ‘OK this is why we’ve worked our butts off for 18 months.”

“We’re really excited about it because it’s such a musical show,” adds Tim. “The band – there’s a lot of moments in this show that really highlights how good our band is—they are fantastic. We’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. For me, the chances that I get to watch Faith sing, it’s like a Nascar trying to keep up with an Indy car when we’re out there. Nascar is pretty good but Indy car is fast. It’s a long show, we’re getting to play some great songs that we really love and we have a few surprises for everyone in there. We can’t wait to just get on that big stage and show everybody what we’re gonna do and sort of see the visuals that we are going to put. It’s always fun to just play the music, but when you have all the accoutrement’s to go along with it, as an artist, you enjoy and you get to see. You’re like every now and then when you’re playing a song and something cool happens lighting wise you’re like, ‘Wow, that was really cool.’ We’re going to have a lot of those moments that really inspire us to raise the level of our game.”

The level was raised on April 7 when the Soul2Soul tour kicked off in New Orleans. Check out Tim and Faith’s Soul2Soul weekend in New Orleans and Tupelo, Miss.
