Jana Kramer Gets Funky on “Dancing With the Stars”

Coming off of last week’s perfect score, Jana Kramer was geared up for Eras night on Dancing With the Stars, where the eight remaining contestants danced to some of the most popular songs throughout the decades.

“Last week was amazing,” Jana said before her dance. “That was my goal going into the competition. I was like ‘I would love a perfect score.’ And now I’m going to accomplish the next thing: the mirror ball.”

jana-kramer-gleb-dwtsJana and her partner, Gleb Savchenko, were given the 1970s—the era of funk. The couple danced the samba to KC and The Sunshine Band’s “Get Down Tonight.”

“I just feel like there is so much pressure this week,” said Jana during a rehearsal. “Coming off of a perfect score, I’m back to zero, literally. We have to work our way up. I just feel super overwhelmed and then I feel like I just suck.”

Jana didn’t receive her best scores of the season, but was happy with the scores—8 from Carrie Ann Inaba, 9 from Julianne Hough, 8 from Len Goodman and 9 from Bruno Tonioli, giving her Jana a total of 34 out of 40 points.

“That girl can funk,” Bruno shouted. “She can get down, she can get up, she can get into anything in between—including wonderful shadow rolls. She can do a mean wash—just in case you get too dirty, she’ll take care of you. But never too dirty for me.”

“You’re a great dancer,” Carrie Ann added. “You had a few problems with musicality tonight, but I don’t want that to discourage you because I see your star growing brighter and brighter.”

At the end of the show, Jana found herself in jeopardy again, landing in the bottom two with Maureen McCormack. However, Maureen was sent home, and Jana is safe for another week.

You can see Jana and Gleb do their thing next week when Dancing With the Stars airs Monday nights at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
