Thompson Square Dazzle with Intimate Performance (Watch)

Thompson Square joined forces with Cumulus Radio for the NASH FM 103.3 Presents Thompson Square in the Music City Performance Studio brought to you by Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee—an event that took place in an intimate setting Friday afternoon (Aug. 12).

The Music City Performance Studio shows give fans inside access to their favorite artists and give artists an experience to interact with fans in a comfortable setting different from a concert.

“We’re so glad to be here,” Shawna told the crowd. “We don’t get to play in Nashville very much so this is awesome. If you all just want to request songs that’s how we’ll do this.”

With an audience of approx. 30 of Thompson Square’s biggest fans requesting “Are You Gonna Miss Me or Not,” Shawna and Keifer obliged and kicked off the set with their No. 1 hit.

Thompson Square_Music City“We’ve been working on new music ya’ll and we’re so excited. We obviously took a little time off to have a baby and enjoy him,” Shawna said.

With that the husband and wife duo launched into their latest single, “You Make It Look So Good,” followed by crowd requests of “Glass,” and “If I Didn’t Have You.”

“‘About ‘If I Didn’t Have You”—My dad passed away five years ago from colon cancer,” Shawna shared with the audience. “[The writing session] was literally like a therapy session. The title “If I Didn’t Have You” came out when I started thinking about my mom and how she was doing with losing my dad. Then it turned into Keifer and my love song but the really amazing, weird, crazy, cool thing that happened with this song is that it went No. 1 on my Dad’s birthday. This song will always have a very very special place in our hearts.”

So as not to end the show on a sad note, Keifer and Shawna added one more song to the set —the upbeat Top 5 hit, “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About”—and closed out the afternoon meeting and greeting with their fans.

To be a part of the Music City Performance Studio concerts, fans are invited to register online for their chance to attend the event. The next scheduled performance will be with Randy Houser on Oct. 6. A schedule of upcoming events can be found here when available.
