Our 10 Favorite Country Songs of Summer

We think many things when we think of summer. We think of surf, sand, sun, love, fun, outdoors and freedom. But mostly, it’s just hot. Summer is the time for t-shirts, flip-flops and short shorts to help us stay cool. So we found 10 country songs that just make us want to roll down our windows, turn up the volume and feel the breeze.

Check out these 10 favorites that have been helping us beat the heat this summer.

1. Keith Urban – “Wasted Time”

When I think about those summer nights / singing out the window, on the back roads, sings Keith. The lyrics brings us back to the wasted time of youth and all those fun summer nights.

2. Dierks Bentley – “Somewhere on a Beach”

You don’t need a fast uptempo song to think of summer. Dierks Bentley slows the beat down while taking us to our favorite beach. Let’s face it, we all just want to be somewhere on a beach.

3. Cassadee Pope – “Summer”

Sexy, sultry and sassy, the title says it all.

4. Thomas Rhett – “Vacation”

Ummm . . . need we say more.

5. Zac Brown – “Castaway”

It wouldn’t be summertime without a Zac Brown song. The Reggae sound and festive melody allows us to leave the world behind and forget our problems.

6. Jake Owen – “American Country Love Song”

Jake + open road + music = summer. We knew summer arrived when Jake released this one. What better way to symbolize the season than with a VW Bus, sailboats and a body of water.

7. Eli Young Band – “Saltwater Gospel”

All hail the ocean. This is the song where we all become one with the water and find peace via the ocean.

8. Old Dominion – “Snapback”

“Snapback” sets the scene for summer and conjures up images of summer fun. You can just hear the word summer being called out after each line. Those stars need to be wished on / Your skin needs to be kissed on / My eyes baby they’re fixed on you in your snapback / T-shirt of our favorite rock band / Checkin’ your make-up in my Ray Bans / Breakin’ hearts like only you can in your snapback.

9. David Nail – “Nights on Fire”

“Nights of Fire” = hot summer nights . . . with a catchy melody.

10. Luke Bryan – “Huntin’ Fishin’ and Lovin’ Everyday”

If you can’t hit the sand, you might as well hunt, fish and love life during the summer months.
